Bålsta IF was one of 104 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Irsta Blixten 2018. They participated with two teams in Pojkar 01/02 and Flickor 08 respectively. The team in Pojkar 01/02 made it to the the 1/4 Final in Slutspel B, but lost it against Borlänge HK by 7-18.

In addition to this, Bålsta IF have participated in Irsta Blixten before. During Irsta Blixten 2017, Bålsta had one team playing in Pojkar 01/00. The team in Pojkar 01/00 made it to the the 1/4 Final in Slutspel B, but lost it against HF ÅIFK by 5-15.

Bålsta comes from Bålsta which lies approximately 57 km from Västerås, where Irsta Blixten takes place. The area around Bålsta does also provide 14 additional clubs participating during Irsta Blixten 2018 (Among others: Täby HBK, Enköpings HF, Fjärdhundra SK, Spånga HK, Uppsala HK, Skånela IF, Rosersbergs IK, Kungsängens SK, IFK Strängnäs and AIK).
